Russia destroys national identity of Ukrainians in temporarily occupied territories

The aggressor country uses specially created socio-cultural foundations and centers to influence the population of the temporarily occupied territories.

According to the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, one of the instruments of “soft power” of the Russian occupation administration is the Russkiy Mir Foundation. Dmitry Kozak, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration and the main implementer of Russia’s policy on Ukraine, was appointed as a chairman of the foundation’s board of trustees. Under the guise of this fund, a representative office of the so-called international cultural project “Russian Centre” was opened in the temporarily occupied territory of the east of Ukraine, which coordinates the work of local bodies for the implementation of humanitarian and cultural aggression against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military intelligence notes that the main efforts of the so-called humanitarian units of the occupying country are aimed at the complete destruction of the national identity of the Ukrainian population in the temporarily occupied territories. These include the eradication of the Ukrainian language and culture in all spheres of life for the local population, the introduction of Russian educational standards in local educational institutions, the planting of distorted historical facts on the history of the region, and the further mental approximation of the residents of the ORDLO  (Temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine) to the Russian population.
