Russian propaganda conceals the real data on coronavirus in the Caucasus

The horrific situation with the incidence of COVID19 occurred in the Russian Caucasus. For the elimination of the infection effects, the radiation, chemical, and bacteriological protection specialists of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District conduct training in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia and Ichkeria, as well as in South Ossetia. For this training, apart from military hardware,  special machinery is also being used, including engineering and technical mobile chemical protection complexes, degassing military kits, ARS-14M auto-filling stations, and TMS-65U special equipment thermal kits.

The military began working in the civilian sector under conditions where Kabardino-Balkaria doctors refused to go to work, referring to the lack of personal protective equipment against the virus. Besides, the moral pressure on the population is exerted by the real death toll, which is carefully concealed by the leadership of the republics of the Russian Caucasus.

However, ICPS specialists have found out that there were rallies in Kabardino-Balkaria due to the government’s inability to curb the spread of the infection. The relatives of the deceased require the give back the bodies and disclose the actual epidemiological situation. There were even clashes with security forces. At that time, it is gratifying that local and larger-scale politicians do not stand apart from the problems of the people. An example is an assistance provided by the Communist Party of Kabardino-Balkaria. Communists have decreed that “Committees of the local branches of the KBRB of the RFCP should intensify their propaganda work on social networks, continue publishing their materials on the KBRB of the RFCP website.”

And in North Ossetia, it’s local citizens who have come out against self-isolation. According to the “Caucasus. Realities” media, ”dozens of people were detained in the North Ossetian Digora during the rally.”

Any information on the height of the epidemic in the Caucasus region of the Russian Federation is carefully concealed by the government. The facts and figures on infected and deceased citizens are known to the limited number of people.  And all the truthful information is overlaid with the activities of the administrative resource and the well-developed propaganda mechanism. And by the means of the total control over all-Russian media, including Internet resources.

At the same time, in Russia as a whole the number of patients has considerably increased – according to the official data, there are already more than 1100 people. The total number of those infected exceeds 7000 people. Denis Protsenko, Chief Medical Officer of Kommunarka Hospital #10 where patients with COVID-19 are being treated, said Russia should prepare for the Italian scenario of the epidemic – with many serious cases.
