Valentyna Bykova commented on the kremlin’s fake about the «dirty bomb»

Valentyna Bykova, the head of analytical projects for countering disinformation at the International Center for Countering Russian Aggression (IC CRA) commented for Mind.ua on a russian fake about Ukraine’s alleged intention to create a «dirty bomb».

“One of the reasons for the short-lived “life” of this message is that it was instantly rejected and refuted by Western high-ranking officials, – Valentyna Bykova noted. – US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, UK Foreign Minister James Cleverley and French Foreign Minister Catherine Colony immediately declared their disbelief in the assumption that Ukraine could build a “dirty bomb”.

Valentyna Bykova noted that the kremlin continued IPSO, using the head of the russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov as the headliner, to whom he again voiced the message about the “dirty bomb” in phone conversations with the head of the British Chiefs of Staff Committee Tony Radakin and the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley. “This time NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg responded, saying that Russia is accusing others of what it plans to do itself,” the expert explains.

Ukraine also made its contribution to the final destruction of the fake, which immediately invited the IAEA mission to conduct an inspection of its nuclear power plants and verify the absence of any activity in this direction.

“Therefore, the main factors that destroyed the Kremlin’s PSYOP on the dirty bomb are 1) the speed of response, 2) repulsion at the highest level, 3) the joining of efforts of the leading countries of the West to form a common position on this issue, 4) Ukraine’s demonstration of transparency of their intentions,” –  Valentyna Bykova concluded.
